First Look Alternatives {A Sweet Twist For Special Photos}

Posted by Katherine on November 28, 2011.

First look photos have been a popular option for the younger generation of brides for the past few years.  They are a great way to capture the pure emotion of the groom seeing the bride for the first time, and they make for some really amazing wedding photos.  Although, not everyone wants to break the rule of tradition by seeing each other anywhere other than the altar before their wedding.  We found some great alternatives for more traditional brides while still capturing all the feelings of special wedding day moments.

Fathers First Look - Capture the special moment between you and your dad by having a "fathers first look".  Not only does it make a great photo but its a special time between the two of you that you might not otherwise get before the ceremony.

Bridesmaids First Look - Giving your bridesmaids the first look is a fun & exciting option.  These are you closest friends and family members so for them to see the bride first is not only an honor but its a great way to capture all of their emotions at once.

First Look Twist - If having a special moment with your husband or wife to be in important to you, there are still some options for being with them before the ceremony without actually seeing them.  This still captures the moment without taking away the tradition.

A first look photo isn't the right option for everyone, but these alternatives give you some great ideas for special photos.  Make sure to talk about it with your photographer and wedding planner ahead of time so that proper time can be reserved to get the shots.
