From Fallen Trees to Fantastic Treasures { Christine Shelton }

posted by Katherine on July 19, 2011

With a strong desire to constantly create new products, Portland, Oregon's Christine Shelton uses fallen trees as her inspiration and her natural creativity to transform them into something so lovingly unique and charming. Known as a "jack of all trades" to friends and family, Christine is an art, design, music, nature, and food lover. She's a passionate, strong-willed, hard worker who has held more jobs than anyone she has ever known, each one drastically different from the other. She has, however, always had a strong desire to work for herself doing something she loves and, she's proud to say, as of October 2010 she has been happily and successfully self employed. Her online Etsy shop This Fine Day has a generous assortment of handmade wooden products, such as holders for place cards & candles, all hand designed with love by Christine herself.

I love the raw, eco-friendly, natural feel these place card holders bring to weddings.

"I will go out to the wood shed and just look at all the pieces of wood and think about what I can make out of them." - Christine

Create a vintage flair by adding antique bottles and brightly colored flowers.

Tie it all together with ribbon and a ring for the ring bearer. Simple & classy!

Thank you Christine for sharing you truly remarkable journey with us. And just for the record, she does not cut the trees down herself! She graciously awaits for them to fall and constantly scours Craigslist for any newly fallen trees in her area.
